In a sustained bid to strengthen football in Nigeria and further support the super eagles in Russia, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah dug deep into his pocket as usual, to take over twenty young Nigerians to Russia for the World Cup while other billionaires stayed back to lavish their monies on frivolities
According to our correspondent Chief Ubah is the biggest private investor in Nigeria football, and also doubles as Nigeria’s youth football ambassador, a chieftain of CAF organising committee, a strong NFF congress member, the chairman of Anambra FA, the president of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, a member of NFF youth football committee, a friend and motivator of Nigerian youths in diaspora, a promoter of One Nigeria and organiser of the biggest youth football programme ever to be witnessed in Nigeria, Africa and beyond, it is called the Onefootballer, Onefamily project, conceptualised by the Ifeanyi Ubah foundation and sponsored by a man whose vision and dreams is how to better the lives of the youths who upon arrival in Russia, was well welcome as the players came forward to appreciate his presence, the administrators flanked him from right, left and center and in his usual humility, he shook hands and hugged those that came so close.
While Speaking Ubah said that “My mission in Russia is to motivate this team to the best of my ability, and If every rich Nigerian can throw their weight and wealth behind this team at a time like this, am sure the boys will appreciate and be ready to die for their father land” stressing that the intention is not political but, it is just his own way of further spreading love across to those around him, the present NFF board led by Amaju Melvin Pinnick have done really well in motivating this team, corporate bodies have also come forward to show love, it is now left for individuals like myself and others out there, to show our little concern he added.
Speaking further Chief Ubah stated that “one of my former players, Ikechukwu Ezenwa is part of this team. He was a foundation member of FC Ifeanyi Ubah and he was happy to see me around. I made my little promise to motivate the team but unfortunately we lost on Saturday, we will stay united, keep the faith and support this team to the very end” adding that “All we want from Nigerians at home and those here with us in Russia is their support. If a Nation is united in their prayers and consistent in their support, you will be surprised and amazed at the blessings that follows”
Chief Ubah is taking it upon himself to mobilise support for the Super Eagles ahead of their next match against Iceland. Stressing that this is part of the sacrifice he wants to make for the team and he is not going to relent hoping that in the end, this sacrifice will yield dividends as the Eagles will defy the odds to come out of a difficult group D, adding that the Ifeanyi Ubah foundation has finalised plans to launch the Onefamily, Onefootballer programme on the eve of Nigeria’s last match against Argentina in Russia, which is an initiative that already has the blessings of the Nigeria football federation NFF, the confederation of Africa football CAF and the World football governing body FIFA.
