American Professional Wrestler, Windham Rotunda known on stage as Bray Wyatt, has died at age 36.
This was made known in a statement by WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque “Triple H” in a post on X, stating he died on Thursday, August 24.
Triple H wrote, “Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda – also known as Bray Wyatt – unexpectedly passed earlier today. Our thoughts are with his family and we ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time.”
WWE are yet to release the location or cause of death, but said it was unexpected.
Wyatt became WWE Champion in 2017 and wrestled as multiple characters during his career, including as a member of The Wyatt Family and as a nightmarish masked alter ego called The Fiend.
Also reacting to Wyatt sudden death, Actor and former Wrestler Dwayne Johnson “The Rock” took to social media and wrote, “Im heartbroken over the news of Bray Wyatt’s passing.
“Always had tremendous respect and love for him and the Rotunda family.”
At the age of 36, Wyatt is survived by his partner, Jojo Offerman, a former WWE ring announcer, and their children Knash and Hyrie Von.
